I love those necklaces from Stone & Honey. They’re delicate and sweet. I need a lot of delicate and sweet in my life right now.

You can’t buy those beautiful handmade pieces right now… because the Founder of NoMilk Today, Eva, has closed down her Etsy shop so she can make more of those (or maybe she’s getting a nice tan… or travelling the world).

I don’t mind wearing a bow tie if it is one of those. I love charming and delightfully fun objects. (you would have had a good laugh now watching me write the word “delightfully”… ). More delightful objects (well… now that I can write it, I’m using it) at the.

Weird but still very lovely June 9, 2011

This is just my type of jewelry because this is how I hope people perceive me: weird but still very lovely.

The duo of creators describe their work:

WEIRD but still very LOVELY

COMPLEX but still very SMPLE

RAW but still very SOFT

FUNNY but still very SERIOUS

SAME but still very DIFFERENT

ABSTRACT but still very CONCRETE

CHEAP but still very EXCLUSIVE

NICE but still very DANGEROUS

BOYISH but still very FEMININE

I’m adding the cloud necklace to my wish list right now. You can buy Okiiko accessories here.

Oh I Love that gold necklace April 4, 2011

OH I LOVE THAT GOLD NECKLACE: This limited edition Dani M for Michi necklace is adorable, isn’t it? I feel like a dork whenever I say or write “isn’t it” because it reminds me of English class when I was 13.

My birthday is coming up soon, so dear husband if you’re reading this: wink, wink.  I know it’s ridiculous that I’m thinking about my birthday already, because it’s in two months and I don’t even really like to celebrate my birthday (I’ve had my 25th a looooooong time ago). But I need something to keep my mind up in the cloud, I’ve been feeling gloomy and sad lately. Today, I am an empty vessel.

Today, I came across this beautiful work by Dutch stylist & jewelry designer Miranda van Dijk and I love it. If I got that correctly: the brooches are all made of old pictures that the artist has found in grandparents attic printed on cotton fabrics. Looking at her work, I felt nostalgic (but a nice kind of nostalgia, not the gloomy kind) and it reminded me of some old unfinished project from art school (if one day I can turn all those unfinished projects into something, I promise I’ll share). You can see more of her work here and it’s available to buy here.

I’ve been struggling a bit with this blog lately, mainly because I’m busy getting back into doing things myself and also because I’m never too sure how I want this blog to be. Sometime I’d like to get more personal and tell you all about things that actually matters (as much as I love shoes and jewelery, I have a little more depth you know). But today I’ve decided that this is my blog and I can do what I want with it. So hopefully you’ll stick around for a while. So this was it, my first attempt to be more “me” here.

Dear Husband, look at those pretty rings and bracelets (see how I’m also subtly trying to assess if husband is reading blog)… and it’s really good we don’t do Valentine’s day in our house because you can find tones of other reasons to surprise me (I’ll totally fake the surprise I promise).

Sorry for that little digression now, but it’s important to get your point across sometimes.

I don’t wear bracelets very often (something about the fact that they just keep getting in the way when I’m working on my computer), but I absolutely adore those blue ones. Katherine Wheeler and  Abby Seymour are two artists and together they create pieces that are hand crafted, painted and fired in their own kiln. They don’t do mass production and this I really like. (found via bloesem)

It’s been a long (shameful) time since my last post. But tonight I was going through some archive and had to share this.

(Plus Xmas is coming… you never know who might read this). The pieces are from Barbara Prouvost and you can find them at Arik Levy.

I’m not posting much but I’m busy with a project that I will hoprfully share soon (well it has to get a little prettier… we’re just not there yet).

Nervous System August 12, 2010

Oh I like this so much! This is how those guys create their designs:

We create our designs through an iterative and expermental process. After brainstorming an initial concept we write a pattern generating algorithm in the computer through which we further explore our ideas and ultimately create the finished product.

And this… I like even more! read more about Nervous system here.

Few days ago, one of my friend has pointed my growing obsession for jewelries. I didn’t actually realise until she said it… now I’m looking at my post for the last months and… duuuuh! The funny thing is that I don’t even wear that much jewelries, but I have to say if I was to start my life all over (not the early teens stage please) I’d probably try to give it a go as a jewelery designer. For now I’m just enjoying admiring other peoples work. More about Kyoko Hashimoto here.
