Hidden Memories March 28, 2011
Today, I came across this beautiful work by Dutch stylist & jewelry designer Miranda van Dijk and I love it. If I got that correctly: the brooches are all made of old pictures that the artist has found in grandparents attic printed on cotton fabrics. Looking at her work, I felt nostalgic (but a nice kind of nostalgia, not the gloomy kind) and it reminded me of some old unfinished project from art school (if one day I can turn all those unfinished projects into something, I promise I’ll share). I’ve been struggling a bit with this blog lately, mainly because I’m busy getting back into doing things myself and also because I’m never too sure how I want this blog to be. Sometime I’d like to get more personal and tell you all about things that actually matters (as much as I love shoes and jewelery, I have a little more depth you know). But today I’ve decided that this is my blog and I can do what I want with it. So hopefully you’ll stick around for a while. So this was it, my first attempt to be more “me” here.

Few days ago, one of my friend has pointed my growing obsession for jewelries. I didn’t actually realise until she said it… now I’m looking at my post for the last months and… duuuuh! The funny thing is that I don’t even wear that much jewelries, but I have to say if I was to start my life all over (not the early teens stage please) I’d probably try to give it a go as a jewelery designer. I love those pieces designed by Keyman. I’ve found them on Erayo, a B2B online trade show dedicated to designed products. The idea behind Erayo is the believe that exclusive products should ‘cross the ocean’ online. It works! I can already see that beautiful brooch crossing the ocean just for me.
