Joel is a brilliant artist and a great dad. On his blog, he posts about toys or craft projects he’s making for his kid. The projects are always fun and clever and I can’t wait to be able to do the same with the small one. I love the Paper city vehicles and the Halloween box scene. Because I felt so inspired this week… I had great plans for this week-end: I had planned to create nice dolls like those ones for my little girl. I had planned to go out it the snow and have fun. I had planned to paint and drink a nice cup of hot chocolate. And I had planned to work hard in the evening once she was asleep so I could finally share my new project here. But instead I started to get a cold, went marching in Dublin’s street to protest against the government, got frozen feet and ended up with a bad cold and temperature. So I didn’t do any of the things I had planned, I’ve spent most of the last days in bed. We should have a law against being sick during the week-end.

Staying home on Sundays makes me want to decorate the appartment. Or maybe I’m getting too excited thinking about Ikea (finally) opening a store in Dublin tomorrow. Those cute cushion by Lisa Max would be perfect for us, and I know a little person who’d adore them. To see more of her work, check out her blog.

There’s a tiny little girl out there who’s doing great stuff with her two hands!

Nice work by Zoe Woods: as she used papers found via, car boot sales, skips, used gift wrap, she only does limited series (or even one of a kind object). Today looks like it’s Autumn in Dublin already, this just suit the mood I’m in.

I wish I was one of those crafty girls: gifted and talented… but despite my two good hands (one left, one right and ten good fingers) I’m no crafty. I tried to learn to knit in the past, but that wasn’t very successful. And now that I’ve discovered this really cool and funky website Wool and the Gang, I wish I could use those two hands… well I’m using them right now… I’m typing… and typing a little more… maybe I’m not a lost cause!

papercrane

I’m a silly mum desperate to get her daughter to love plush toys so she can play with them! Could she get attached to a slice of bread or even better a toilet paper roll plush? Heidi Kenney from MyPaperCrane is creating funny and unusual plush toys for kids and for adults. Her weirdest creation: tampon plushies. It could make a funny gift, I just have to figure out which of my friend could deserve such a gift!

Paraphernalia

I love vintage illustrations and I love jewerlies. Ms Vanda from Paraphernalia had the brilliant idea to combine both. The pieces she creates are very graphic, unuasual (not to say strange) and poetic. They’re also surprisingly affordable, and I’m going to buy the heart necklace right now… or maybe the ribcage one.

Naomi

Naomi Murrell is a freelance illustrator and designer based in Australia. I just love her work… well, now you might think why would I care what you love? after all I’m no expert. It’s always hard to talk about something without using terms like: I love this, I adore that. But you can see for yourself that her work is very creative and inspiring. Her latest work is a lovely collection of art prints and jewelery featuring sweet folk-style birds. It actually reminds me of another artist work, but I can’t remember her name right now. I’ll make a post as soon as I find it. In the meantime, you can visit Naomi’s shop on Etsy.

I’m still looking around for inspirations for my friend’s wedding. As she doesn’t know yet what she wants, I’m collecting pictures of objects, colour palette… I hope it will help her. Now that I’ve found this pair of earrings I just want to buy them for myself. But I won’t… it’s wrong!
